Age Limit (As on 01/07/2024):

The candidate’s age must be between 21 and 40 years as of 1st July 2024. This means candidates should not be born earlier than 2nd July 1984 and not later than 1st July 2003. Candidates who do not meet this age requirement will be disqualified from applying for the AE posts. Age relaxation is available for candidates from reserved categories as per UPPSC’s guidelines.

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in a relevant stream to be eligible for the Assistant Engineer role. Additionally, preference will be given to those who have served for two years in the Territorial Army or possess an NCC ‘B’ certificate.


The selection process for consists of the following stages:

1.Written Exam
Candidates must first appear for a written exam. The exam will cover subjects related to the candidate’s engineering discipline, and candidates should thoroughly review the UPPSC AE syllabus to prepare for it.

2.Interview
Candidates who successfully clear the written exam will be called for an interview. This is the final stage of the selection process, where the candidates’ suitability for the role will be assessed.
